What Transmits Lyme Disease?

This is the most common tick transmitted disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is typically transmitted by the few species of genus Ixodes, meaning hard ticks. Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto is the main cause of the disease here in America. Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii are the main cause of most European cases.
