This disease is found everywhere except Antarctica. It is found across the United States favoring the east, mid-west, and west coast. The disease seems to be spreading. Fortunately, not all ticks carry the disease. If you are bitten, you should remove the tick immediately with a pair of tweezers. Once you have removed the tick cover the bite in an antiseptic. This could lessen your chances of contracting the disease.
