Illness can bring extremes of suffering. I remember it vividly. But as you have probably heard before, anyone can survive a very hard “what” if they have a big enough “why”. In my experience, looking back after almost dying from Lyme infection, and all the associated problems, just wanting to get well and stop the suffering is not a big enough reason to fight to truly heal. After all, one can stop the suffering with a bullet or at least temporarily with Oxycontin.
